Zack Atkinson’s athletic ability sets him apart in a class of 6’9” forwards. He is an incredible and explosive vertical jumper, excellent shot blocker and aggressive rebounder. Atkinson is extremely active around the basket and runs the floor very well for a player of his size, especially on the wing. He is a true “high flying” individual whom is extremely coachable and humble. Needs to improve his 15 foot jump shot and a few post move mechanics. He can be a very strong impact player overseas if given the opportunity to do so.

Bishopville, S.C. (Feather River College)
The senior center scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting
in the win over Hawai’i. Atkinson had nine points, six
boards and four blocked shots in the win at Loyola
Marymount. He leads the team with eight blocked
shots. He is shooting 55.9 percent from the field and
was the lone UCI player to score in double figures
against Texas with 10 points.
JC: He was unanimously voted to the 2008 Golden
Valley Conference All-Defensive Team for the second
straight year at Feather River College in Quincy,
Calif...he was second in California community colleges
in blocked shots, averaging 4.0 per game last season
for coach Randy Rick...he set the Feather River
all-time single-game record for blocked shots with 13
in a 95-93 win over College of the Redwoods....he
notched his third career triple-double in that win,
scoring 17 points and collecting 12 rebounds...he had
11 blocked shots in a 76-72 win over College of the
Redwoods his freshman season and recorded his
first triple-double as he added 12 points and 13
rebounds.
High School: Was a two-time all-league and all-city
p la ye r a t L e e Ce n t ra l High in Bi s h o p v i l le ,
S.C....averaged 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4.5
blocked shots per game for coach Lavern Knox.
Personal: A sociology major at UCI.
